Speedy Redshirt Senior Brings Elite Athleticism to Green & White
With the first pick of Day 3, the Jets selected Georgia wide receiver Arian Smith at No. 110 overall in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
“They asked me if I was ready to be a Jet,” Smith said during a call with reporters. “I told them, absolutely. I’m honored, blessed, and just ready for the opportunity.”
Smith, who describes himself as mentally and physically tough, stands 6-0 and weighs 179 pounds. “I’m a slim guy, not very big — but I’m fast,” he said.
Last season, the redshirt senior led the Bulldogs with 817 receiving yards on 48 catches, averaging 17.0 yards per reception and scoring four touchdowns. Over his college career, Smith played in 47 games, totaling 68 receptions for 1,356 yards (an impressive 19.9-yard average) and 10 touchdowns.
Smith’s athleticism shined at the NFL Combine, where he posted standout numbers: a 4.36-second 40-yard dash, a 38-inch vertical leap, a 10’7″ broad jump, a 6.82-second 3-cone drill, and a 4.19-second short shuttle.
His speed is no surprise given his strong background in track and field. As a standout at Mulberry High School in Florida, Smith recorded the nation’s longest long jump in 2018 (25 feet, 3 inches). In 2019, he won a Florida state title in the 200 meters, earned a silver medal in the 100 meters, and anchored the U.S. 4x100m relay team to a world U20 record of 36.62 seconds at the Pan American Championships in Costa Rica.
