Merry Christmas Jets fans!

It’s a festive Fan Friday this week as we enter the holiday weekend full of food, family and of course football (both kinds!)

After last night’s game with the Jaguars, the Jets now have a prolonged break before their next game on New Year’s Day against the Seahawks.

But our Fan Friday series continues unabated - and we’re on the hunt for new submissions, so please do contact us via direct message on Twitter or at the email address on the bottom of the page.

This week we profile Wales-based Huw, who is celebrating his birthday tomorrow! Hope you have a wonderful day and Happy New Year - thanks for taking the time to answer our questions!

  • Name: Huw Roberts
  • Twitter: @huwrob62
  • Location: Newport, South Wales
  • Jets Fan Since: Officially, 2004
  • First Jets Memory: I watched games on TV in the 80s, trying to figure what the hell was going on?! The New York Jets didn’t feature much in those days, but I was intrigued by their history - always promising greatness but never quite delivering. I followed the Jets whenever I could find information about them, before the internet that was tricky, and saw a recording of the Monday Night Miracle a while after it happened, which made me shake my head and say “how about those Jets?”
  • Favourite Jets memory: Going to watch them play at Wembley in 2015, their first game on British soil and a win at that!
  • Ever visited MetLife?: Not specifically MetLife but in 2004, I visited friends who lived in New Jersey and had tickets for a Sunday game. I assumed “Giants probably” but checked the newspaper and it was Jets v 49ers! My first game, and a win for the Jets!
  • Favourite current Jet: Quinnen Williams: passion, work ethic and humility.
  • Favourite all-time Jet: Would have to say Curtis Martin - great player and amazing human - or Don Maynard, RIP, the first ever New York Jet. Thanks to Huw for sharing his Jets memories - hopefully plenty more to add in the coming years!

For anyone who would like to be featured in future weeks, please get in contact with us via DM on Twitter or via the email address listed below! Have a wonderful Christmas!
